Shelbourne House
Conservation - Extension
Client: Private
Completion: 2022

Shelbourne House is an early 19th century Greek Revivalist dwelling built by Mr Horatio Nelson Seymour. The main house had fallen into severe disrepair during the latter half of the 20C and was purchased and renovated to a high standard by a commercial developer.

A rooftop extension was designed in the form of a lantern for the top floor apartment to extend the living space and provide outward views of the river & city. The lantern was designed in a simple contemporary style to complement but be visually distinct from the original house.
